To access the knowledge of the rich and the wealthy, you have to go on a personal journey of gaining knowledge from people who are where you want to be. Many professors who teach topics of business and entrepreneurship never started an actual business in their life.
Choose who you would rather learn business from: a college professor who never started a business and is teaching outdated information or an entrepreneur who currently runs a multimillion dollar business in your field? The truth is: reading books, listening to podcasts, and going to seminars taught by other successful people is like having a personal mentor guiding your way.
One of the best ways to shorten your learning curve when it comes to success is to learn from people who are living the life you want to live. Although your experience may be different from their experience, it doesn’t mean you can’t learn from their failures and mistakes. Challenge yourself to be a life long student because as an entrepreneur you have to constantly adapt to changing environments. You don’t want to be like the owners of Blockbuster who refused to pay attention to the changing times and got left behind.
Self-Education Is A Journey
I’m pretty sure you want to have lasting wealth, not temporary wealth. Most people think that once they reach a certain level of success, they can stop, but the truth is that if you want to stay wealthy you must continue to develop yourself by constantly seeking out new knowledge that can help you grow as a person and as an entrepreneur.
Understand that your thoughts and beliefs determine your actions, so you must study the mindset of successful entrepreneurs to join them. Ask yourself, how many books have you read in the last 30 days? How many podcasts have you listened to? How many seminars have you attended? If the answer is less than one then it’s time to reevaluate yourself.
In todays time, the price of a book is pennies compared to the knowledge you will gain from it. If you want a better life and to become a successful entrepreneur, seek out ways to expand your knowledge.
