1. Affiliate Marketing
When most people think of affiliate marketing, they think of selling someone else’s product. This is great and can be a good source of income. However, you can also be on the other side of this relationship. You can actually have an affiliate program where other people get a commission for selling your products.
This is great because once you have enough people selling your products, you don’t have to spend any money until your products sell. A few platforms you can use for your affiliate program is Gumroad and Clickbank.
2. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Although search engine optimization may take the longest to see results for, it can also bring in extremely targeted traffic. Getting good at SEO takes time and also is one of the hardest ways to get consistent traffic. However, if you can rank your blog posts, you’ll be getting people on your website who directly searched for what you are talking about.
Some of the most important factors when it comes to SEO is having a fast website that loads under 3 seconds, linking to other websites with high quality content, and writing content for the user not search engines. Lastly, make sure you are using SEO tools like Yoast SEO to ensure your posts are SEO friendly.
3. Pay Per Click (PPC)
Pay per click advertising is one of my favorite ways to sell my products online. Personally, I use Facebook advertising on a regular basis to drive targeted traffic to my products. However, depending on your niche you can also get results with Google Ads, Pinterest Ads, and YouTube Ads.
For pay per click advertising, you usually are paying per click. So, let’s say you are running a FB Ad and are paying $0.25 per click. This means that for every 1,000 people you have click your ad and go to your landing page you are paying $250.
The benefits of using pay per click advertising is that you can track your return on investment. With a FB pixel, for example, you can track how many people clicked to your landing page and how many people bought your product from clicking on your ad. Once you know your numbers you can tweak your ads to the point you are making consistent sales and profits.
4. Instagram Influencers
One way for you to promote your products is to partner or pay an Instagram influencer. You find influencers within the same niche as you and pay them to post or review your product.
Usually, the amount of followers they have will determine their price. So, if you are on a small budget you can start with a small account (< 50,000 followers) and work your way up once your budget increases. One thing to pay attention to before you pay an Instagram influencer is to ask about their engagement rate on their posts. You don’t want to pay an influencer that has 50,000 followers but only get 300 likes per post and 10 clicks.
5. Promotional Events
Another way for you to promote your products is through promotional events. You can throw your own promotional event or you can attend a business event were you can display and sell your products.
For example, in many cities around the world there are people who put together business events where businesses can be sponsors and set up booths. You, as the business owner, would setup a booth and have samples of your products.
The event coordinator usually will be doing everything in their power to promote the event, but you can also tell everyone you know about the event as well. Since you will have samples of your product at the event, people who never heard of you can try your product and purchase from you on the spot.
